‘TV crime drama rough cut learner response’

  Estimated current grade: D – due to 2.05 running time. B/C grade for what is there.   Comments & feedback: The opening is really strong – excellent non-diegetic sound, good locations, smooth continuity editing and engaging. There are aspects that need work – e.g. the text messages aren’t legible – but clear potential for a strong opening scene. The title of the show appearing between the scenes makes sense and divides them up nicely. It seems pretty clunky at present though – see if you can make the transitions smoother and also bring in some more TV conventions if you can. Need to check: are the drone shots original? They are great and work perfectly to establish the location but you will need to sign a candidate record form saying all your own work so it’s important to confirm this.
